Mandela Effect

By Charlene Kemp

The Mandela Effect and what is it?
The Mandela Effect is a term used for a group of people, who all mis-remember the same detail, event or Physicality.

The Mandela Effect was named by paranormal enthusiast Fiona Broome in 2010. Fiona discovered she wasn’t the only one who wrongly believed Nelson Mandela died in prison in the 1980s.

Fiona shared her memories and thoughts in a group and set up a site called http://mandelaeffect.com/. Since then the Mandela effect has took the internet by storm with many people coming forward to share the same thoughts, events and memories (seeing it on TV,  hearing about it on the Radio or seeing it in the papers) even though in the archieves there is no evidence of such in reality. Some even claimed that they had learnt of Mandela’s death at school.

At this time Mandela was alive at the time and he actually died in December 2013. Three years later, after Fiona had voiced her memories if it.

Explaining the Mandela effect

There are many different theories to explain the Mandela Effect and when exploring research into the term can leave you some what mind blown!

The 3 most interesting theories I have found to explain this theory is that –

We are living in some kind of parellel universe as believed by Fiona Broome.

Lack of education

Time travellers have gone back into time and have changed our present.

There is no simple explanation, our explanations on it would be down to is our own opinions on what is occuring, it is something that people have tried to explain and have reached their own conclusions on. Best thing to do, if you want to look into the theory more is to look up the 3 mentioned explanation theories above and come to your own conclusions on it.

I feel it is also important to mention that its believed that the bible makes reference to The Mandela Effect and this could also be another explaination on it.

Some alleged examples of the Mandela Effect are quite easily debunked. If you grew up knowing the line from the Lord’s Prayer as ‘Forgive us our trespasses’ you may very well be taken in by a Youtubers conspiracy theory that the text has changed over night to ‘ Forgive us our debts’ and upon checking it, it will say ‘debts’, but after researching you will find thats theres always been different versions that have been favoured by different denominations.

Regardless of what conclusion you come to, its interesting to say the least!

Here are some other examples of The Mandela Effect which some of us may be surprised to find out, that we too may have experienced the Mandela Effect.

Curious George never had a tail

People claim to remember seeing curious george use his own tail to swing from tree to tree but if you look up pictures of him now, you will find that he doesnt have a tail.

No dash in Kit Kat

People remember the Kit Kat bar being spelt “Kit-Kat” with a dash, but there isnt one and the company has claimed that there was never one. This frustrates people who seem to think that at some point there was one.

Forest Gump – Life isnt a box of chocolates

It seems that people confidently remember Forrest Gump saying that his “mama always said life is like a box of chocolates” well it turns out that what was actually said is ” Life was like a box of chocolates”.

Snow White – It never was ‘Mirror, Mirror on the Wall’

One of the most famous and repeated lines and most rememebered from Snow White is ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall’, It turns out the line is actually ‘Magic mirror on the Wall’  and following that many remember the second line to be ‘ Who is the fairest of them all?’ but nope wrong again its actually ‘ Who is the fairest one of all?’

‘Fruit Loops’ or ‘Froot Loops’

Many believe that orginally it was ‘Fruit Loops’ and then changed to ‘Froot Loops’ while others believe it went from ‘Froot Loops’ to ‘Fruit Loops’. Many believe this change happened during their childhood, while others noticed it in recent months, but regardless of what you believe if you look up the cereal or find a box you will see the name ‘Froot Loops’ printed across unless of course you are reading it in another dimension ;).

Whats your thoughts…have you experienced this? if so please contact us to share your story.

Welcome to Red Ridge X`s New Curiosity Corner.

This will be an ongoing set of articles looking at the things we have come across may it be artifacts, movies, theories etc that has made us question, What is it?, Where has it come from? or What is it used for?

I hope you find these articles interesting as we now move on to look at our first curiosity that at a glance looks menacing but as we found this is not a menacing item, well not for humans.

The Tibetan Demon Mask.

So our first item of curiosity is a Tibetan Demon Mask, we were made aware of its sale from a source that was selling a few interesting religious items. The reason why we decided to look at this item is because my first reaction when first looking at the mask was to turn to the seller and say…

The Tibetan Prayer Wheel.

The first item we looked at in the Curiosity Corner was the Tibetan Demon Mask and while we were acquiring this item our friend David Barrett of Project Paranormal picked up a Tibetan Prayer Wheel, we could say this was coincidence but I don’t believe in those :-). I realised this was another item we knew nothing about so we decided to take a closer look.

What is it?

A Tibetan prayer wheel can take many forms but the one in the picture is an hand held version. The origin of the prayer wheel is not certain but some think the design took influence from Chinese revolving bookcases. The idea behind the prayer wheel is when you use it it is the same as performing a mantra and with this helping to cleanse negative energies and even provide way to enlightenment.

How is it made?

The construction of a prayer…

The Best EVP Recorder – Records a Ghosts / Spirits Voice Every time!!!

Well Sorry, i have baited you here with a false claim, “the best EVP Recorder – Records a ghosts / spirits voice every time”
Lets re phrase the title: The Broken EVP Recorder – Which Records its own Inner electronics every time without fail.

IC RECORDER

You will see people with this device called Panasonic RR-DR60.

People claim this device is the best, and captures real voices of the other side.

When used on every investigation it will pick up on spirits asking for HELP and growling down the mic..

However this isnt the case, the company Panasonic released a statement and recalled the product “DR-60” because people was complaining it was recording “SOUNDS” which shouldn’t be there.. Upon their investigation of the device, they deemed the device not fit for use, and asked everyone to return the device, for a newer model with an improved quality audio.

This device is possibly the biggest scam and con within the paranormal community with people selling this device for over £1000.00

Dont believe me? take a look…

a noisy electric circuit such as is found in the Panasonic RR-DR60 or in the loopback used in Video ITC. In fact, this is what we have found to be true.  http://rense.com/general33/americanassociationelect.htm

The Quality of the recorder is shockingly bad also.

The Freq Response (above300kHz) and the very low sampling rate (sub 8kHz), as well as known noise artifacts produced by the RR-DR60 make this a very hard sell for the prices demanded.  http://www.ghostvillage.com/ghostcommunity/index.php?showtopic=33026

Yet again the well known noise artifacts are brought up  to our attention as well as the quality of the recorder.  While there is someone talking there will be no evps over your voice but ONLY when you are not talking wait….

Lets dig something else up.

Experience is showing that a microphone is only important to introduce additional noise if the noise generated internally by the recorder is not useful for voice formation.

A very high quality recorder produces very little internal noise but a low-quality recorder typically produces too much steady-state noise, which is not useful for EVP.

Current understanding is that noise in the voice range–400 to 4,000 Hz–with many perturbations, such as small noise spikes, is useful for voice formation. The noise is needed for voice, but the perturbations are apparently useful to initiate the voice formation process.

The Panasonic RR-DR60 produces this kind of noise internally,

http://atransc.org/category/theory/

There is a few quotes by the company and some people who investigated the claims. It is well DOCUMENTED that this device creates its own WHITE NOISE. and inner circuit which then people say its a ghost.

Now the sick thing is some people are well aware of this.. not all.. but alot..and know that this device is infact faulty and broken.. to con their audience in believing that they have indeed caught spirit communication or to sell to the public making 100s if not 1000s of pounds. SICK.

For the fresh people coming into the field they will see these records on “ghost hunts, Paranormal youtube series, and even on TV…” and of course on ebay… SO BE AWARE.. dont be conned.. Do not BUY A BROKEN RECORDER…… and if you see someone use this point out that.. HEY… that was recalled by Panasonic because it records its own electronics.. the chances are.. they will already know that.
